Tail & Fabric Information

  • My mermaid tails are designed by me, without the use of AI.
  • My mermaid tails are printed and produced in Canada.
  • My mermaid tails are made to the specific measurements that you provide below. There are no generic sizes available.
  • My mermaid tails are intentionally a snug fit to work best for swimming.
  • There is a zippered monofin pocket.
  • I use my signature folded waistband (no elastic band).

📌 Please note that in 2023 I switched fabric and printing suppliers and no longer use the same fabric that my original mermaid tails were made of.

🍁 My mermaid tails are now 100% Canadian made!

  • The fabric base is white and the design itself is printed on top via a process called sublimation printing.
  • The fabric is 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex, is 400GSM and approximately 1mm thick.

Care Instructions

Visit my website for more information on mermaid tail repair.

  • My designs are printed onto white fabric so please use caution when on textured surfaces to avoid damaging the print!
  • Avoid kneeling in the pool or standing while wearing your tail.
  • Be careful to avoid rubbing up against rough surfaces to avoid scuff marks and pilling.
  • Invest in a soft (non-sticky) yoga mat or a large towel to sit on when you need to be out of the water in your tail.
  • DO NOT JUMP AROUND IN YOUR TAIL both for safety and to avoid damaging it.
  • Rinse your tail after every swim.
  • Do not swim in or let your tail sit in water over 30°C/86°F for any length of time.
  • Only use cool/warm (never over 30°C/86°F) water with a gentle detergent (swimsuit cleaner works too).
  • Make sure you allow your tail time to dry out completely before storing it.
  • Avoid letting people rip, pull, or tug on your tail (that includes you).
  • Don't leave your tail out in direct sunlight when you aren't using it. It will fade like any other fabric or material with excessive sun exposure.

What is considered normal wear and tear?

  • General fading, scuffing, and stretching is completely normal and to be expected.
  • Mermaid tails also have the potential to pill/fuzz in areas that come into contact with rough surfaces even if they don't seem too rough to the touch like a soft grit pool flooring for example.
  • You may also encounter loose threads which are easy to either repair or cut away.
  • Popped seams may happen by accident, or as a result of being rough with your tail and/or not taking the time to slowly and carefully insert your monofin. This is also considered normal wear and tear.

Remember that your mermaid tail is a work of art and needs to be treated with patience, kindness, and respect in order for it to bring you as much mermaid magic as possible!
